At Teenage Kicks, we seek to create a strong sense of belonging for every child and ensure they receive the support they need to achieve their full potential. Our inclusive approach caters to a wide range of needs, including communication, cognition and learning, physical and sensory needs, as well as moderate and multiple learning difficulties.
Quality first teaching is at the heart of our approach. All teachers are responsible for the progress and wellbeing of the pupils in their care and adapt lessons to ensure every learner can access the curriculum. Where additional support is needed, pupils benefit from targeted interventions such as counselling, literacy and maths support, and social stories. We also have a team of learning mentors who can work with pupils in small groups or on a 1:1 basis.
We believe that emotional wellbeing is essential to learning, supporting young people’s ability to think critically and creatively and embrace academic challenges with confidence. Pupils with SEND are encouraged to take part in their Person Centred Review where their views can be put forward and listened to. This allows us to celebrate each pupil’s progress and set personalised goals that reflect their own thoughts, experiences, and aspirations.
